Trustee responsibilities:
- Provides fire and emergency service protection pursuant to Indiana statute.
- Keeping records: The trustee keeps a written record of official proceedings.
- Administering assistance: The trustee administers township assistance under IC 12-20 and IC 12-30-4
- Providing and maintaining cemeteries under IC 23-14,
- The trustee assists residents in need by distributing relief and connecting residents to helpful resources
- Enforcing regulations: The trustee enforces property disputes and fence regulations under IC 32-26,
- Providing and maintaining township parks and community centers under IC 36-10.
- Destroying detrimental plants, noxious weeds, and rank vegetation under IC 15-16-8.
- Providing insulin to the poor under IC 12-20-16.
- Attending all meetings of the township legislative body.
- Maintaining a general account showing the total of all township receipts and expenditures.
- The trustee manages all township property, including real and personal property
- The trustee receives and pays out township funds, submits an annual budget, and records all financial transactions
- The trustee examines and settles all accounts and demands chargeable against the township
- Filing an annual personnel report under IC 5-11-13.
- Performing other duties as designated by Indiana statute.
